....on the back of what ah considered to b the best WG, we quickly booked 2005"s, only to find out at a later date that Peterhead sc had already claimed it. Now, for those who werent about then, Scotlands scooter rally season in those days consisted of only Kelso,an LCS rally, ourselves an Psc. So ,despite the Psc offering to change, we did, and the date was set for mid July, and what a good decision that turned out to b 
. It was around this time that Sid (c chapter 1) suggested we try for a lottery grant...wed nothing to lose, just needed something to apply for...why no a marquee A few changes to the club constitution and a favour from my accountant completed the application which pretty much classed us as an ethnic minority 
;D. Off it went, Sid helpin us answer all questions and ,despite his assurances we had a good chance, we really didnt expect to b succesful 
. It was around this time that ah got a phone message from a guy called Johhny Warman 
offerin to play at the rally with his band called The Mods. Ah found out at an Animals do in Glasgow a few weeks later from Billy Hardie( the man responsible for startin Kelso an what became the no1"s cmtte) that they were tremendous. Ah phoned him an he was keen, explaining that the band was made up of members of other bands liks the quo, journey an the 5th member o Queen This was actually true an we decided to go for it only for him to turn round an say it was 2 far away 
Anyway , onwards an upwards, Dav got us a band, Ska Wars, and they turned out to b absolutely fantastic( c youtube). Everythin was set for the rally when ,about a month before, Audrey phoned to say there was a letter from the Lottery...wed got it ;D Marquee cancelled and own one ordered WG that year was blessed, again with brilliant weather an the biggest turnout we were to have( verging on 2 many tbh) , an ah think its fair to say, was a really good rally by any standards ;D. That said, for a while it looked like it may have been the last, the decision to continue no comin til about Christmas. 2005 had also seen us venturin into t shirts for the 1st time in a few year..a new logo(lowlanders in scroll writing in an inlaid oval, in red an cream) was designed an looked good. This only lasted a year though before the current one was born, meetin with a great many good comments from all ;D The 8th WG came an went, weather no so good, numbers down a bit but still enjoyed by most. Ah like to take this opportunity to thank everybody whio helped at any WG..from all the stall holders including Barry Turner, Chris Adams, Carnaby Records.Grog, an the many others who appeared over the years Ah also like to say thanks to the boys who helped us over the weekends,the like of Dobber,Sammy, Sparra, Kevin, all of whom may not have went to rallies but were still considered by us to b club members, Jeck an Wullie whod join us on scooters in 07,Haydn for djin, Haily for helpin us out on a great many occasions and everyone who attended over the years(ah should have saved this for the end but the way its goin that could b christmas ;D) ...ah did say thanks to all stall holders ,however, there is 1 noticeable exception to this(never trust a man with lino on his walls )...an u can find out who in the next installment ;D
